Coordinate and administer the VCEA Undergraduate Tutoring Center programs and services. Implement, monitor, and evaluate tutoring services, establish hiring procedures and identify key courses within VCEA curriculum to support. Develop a peer-led team-learning program for courses designated as success markers with the Student Success Collaborative. Coordinate College-wide student events: Week of Welcome programs, Convocation, and Capstone Expo. Administer the on-line course evaluation program.
Represent the Office of the Associate Dean at meetings within the College and University. Exercise professional judgement; make informed decision related to management policies and College business operations. Perform duties on behalf of the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Programs and Student Services and provide administrative support to Undergraduate Programs within the Office of the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Programs and Student Services. Manage and document office expenditures, coordinate meetings and workshops, maintain accurate records and compile reports. Serve as the primary operational and administrative contact for internal and external constituencies.
Develop and prepare materials under the direction of the Associate Dean related to undergraduate programs. Track and coordinate changes on all VCEA Undergraduate program-related Web pages. Provide information related to undergraduate programs and advising to prospective students, families, and external constituents; coordinate with appropriate offices and disbursing requested information. Participate as an advisor and representative of VCEA Undergraduate Programs at University Orientation and Visitation programs.
Positions require a Bachelor’s degree and three (3) years of professional work experience in student services or related education/experience. Experience leading or directing the work of others. A Master’s degree in a related field may substitute for one (1) year of professional work experience. Any combination of relevant education and professional experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year‐for‐year basis.
Demonstrated experience developing strong, collaborative relationships with colleagues, students, and external constituencies.
Demonstrated experience coordinating a tutoring program.
Demonstrated experience implementing and evaluating new student services programs.
Excellent communication and presentation skills – both oral and written.
Excellent organizational skills.
