Saint Louis University, a Catholic, Jesuit institution dedicated to student learning, research, health care, and service, is seeking applicants for a Post-doctoral Scientist in Biophysics/Structural Immunology to join the laboratory of Dr. Nicola Pozzi in the Edward A. Doisy Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.

The candidate will join a dynamic, interdisciplinary team that uses single molecule spectroscopy, protein engineering and structural biology to understand how antigen- antibody recognition occurs at the molecular level and what are the molecular pathways involved in the transduction of the signal in autoimmune diseases such as antiphospholipid syndrome (APS).

The successful candidate must be highly motivated with extensive experience within one or more of the following areas (in order): single molecule spectroscopy, X-ray crystallography, protein/antibody engineering and protein chemistry. He or she is expected to conduct independent lab work and have a strong record of scientific productivity. He or she should be able to think critically about complex problems and contribute to a team-working environment to advance research projects.

The job requirements include a Ph.D. in chemistry, biophysics, biochemistry, bioengineering, molecular biology or other relevant scientific field and from 0 to 4 years of post-doctoral experience. A preference will be given to candidates with experience in single molecule spectroscopy and X-ray crystallography.
