Detailed Job Description

The Mechanical Project Manager will be instrumental in assisting the Planning and Construction Department with evaluating the current condition of the HVAC systems and assist with establishing a long term master plan for upgrades and replacements. The manager needs to be well versed in the operation of university systems to include but not limited to chillers, cooling towers, boilers, dx units, VAVs, VFDs, FCUs, and miscellaneous conditioning systems. The manager will review all HVAC technical specifications for system upgrades and new projects to ensure conformance with the university standards. Part of the review includes identifying energy efficiency opportunities and rebates as part of the university’s sustainability commitment. The manager needs to be well versed in BMS to ensure the HVAC systems are functioning per the university’s standards. The manager will assist the Operation’s Department as a technical point person to assist in the day to day functioning of the HVAC systems. The manager will be responsible for the execution of HVAC projects from inception through completion.

Minimum Qualifications (Education and Experience Requirements)

B.S. in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical) or B.S. in Facilities Plant and Engineering, plus at least 5 years of experience in the mechanical engineering and facilities field. Must hold and maintain a valid, unrestricted United States driver’s license, with an insurable driving history as determined by Bentley’s insurance carrier.
