Job Description:

Full-time Tenure Track Faculty Requirements: BHCC seeks full-time faculty who demonstrate a passion for teaching and a desire to join faculty and staff to expand and create new strategies for student success.  Faculty must be experienced in teaching in learning communities or willing to become proficient in learning community pedagogy and practice once hired, as well as be adept in the assessment of learning outcomes and in the use of technology in the classroom. Additionally, BHCC seeks faculty who value advising students and wishes to contribute fully to the life of the College.  Faculty may be assigned courses at one or more of the College's locations.  Ability to instruct online is a plus.

Position Description: Responsible for all aspects of the Respiratory Care Program, including program planning, curriculum development and revision; continuous review of the Program's effectiveness and establishing and maintaining clinical sites.

Specific Duties:

  • Provide didactic and clinical instruction in the area of respiratory therapy
  • Utilize on-line resources & new technologies to teach courses.
  • Evaluate student performance in the classroom and clinical setting using outcomes-based assessment.
  • Utilize a variety of appropriate teaching strategies to promote students' critical-thinking  skills.
  • Develop instructional material consistent with student learning outcomes
  • Participate in determining appropriate outcomes  for  respiratory therapy courses and the program as a whole
  • Participate in the assessment and evaluation of student learning outcomes and program outcomes
  • Plan, implement and evaluate the program of learning in compliance with regulatory and accrediting agencies
  • Teach in learning communities and engage students in community service
  • Use simulations and computer technologies.in respiratory therapy courses
  • Maintain expertise and currency in the area of teaching responsibility .and in the pedagogy of teaching
  • Create strategies that increase student success
  • Participate fully in department, division  and college meetings
  • Comply with the duties as stipulated in the Massachusetts Community College Council Collective Bargaining Agreement
  • Maintain CoARC accreditation

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Master's degree; current unencumbered licensure or eligibility as a Respiratory Therapist in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist
  • Two years teaching experience in an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
  • Experience with CoARC accreditation and Self-Study process
  • Proven ability to work effectively with a diverse faculty, staff and student population

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Three years' experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist
  • Teaching experience in a community college
  • Experience as  Program Director of Clinical Education in an accredited Respiratory Therapy Program
  • College-level teaching and clinical practice experience in medical-surgical nursing preferred

Additional Information

Actual Salary Will Be Commensurate With Education and Experience in Accordance with MCCC/MTA Collective Bargaining Agreement. Relocation Stipend May Be Available.

Salary Range: $80,000.00-$85,000.00
