The Human Resources Office is accepting applications forthe following faculty positions in the Library:



The Librarian position is a 12-month extended contract tenure-track faculty position. The successful candidate will answer reference and research queries; conduct orientations and class tours; teach college credit courses as assigned; serve as a liaison to campus departments; and attend department, college, and regional meetings and academic functions. Multiple campus, day, evening, and weekend assignments may be required. This position requires good interpersonal skills, a focus on customer service, the ability to provide efficient and effective public services in an academic library, and advanced skills in operating and maintaining automated library systems.  Also required for this position is excellent oral and written communication skills, the ability to work independently and as a member of a team, and a commitment to the comprehensive state college mission. This position reports to the District Department Head, Libraries. PENDING BOARD APPROVAL


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from a regionally accredited institution with a master’s degree in library science or library and information science.  Successful results of a criminal background check are required.


Pursuant to College policy, it is an employment eligibility requirement for an applicant to meet the requirements of § 435.04(2), Florida Statutes, related to background investigations.  Any person failing to meet the requirements of the statute will be deemed not qualified to hold employment in this position.  A Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) approved background check will be conducted on every successful candidate as a condition of employment, and any person who fails to disclose any adverse information contained in the background investigation at the time of submitting the employment application will be disqualified from employment.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from an American Library Association accredited program; experience teaching traditional and web-based library courses and orientations; experience using online databases and print resources; and experience collaborating with other libraries to develop learning initiatives.


SALARY RANGE:     $45,508.00 - $51,508.00(Entry level salary is computed and based on authority of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.)


FRINGE BENEFITS:  The value of the benefits package provided by the College is nearly 38% of the base salary and includes major medical insurance, life insurance and Florida retirement contributions.  Supplemental life, dental, vision, and disability insurance are available at group rates.  Other benefits offered include participation in the wellness program, tuition waivers, educational opportunities, and paid sick leave.
