Under the direction of the Theatre Arts Department, the Assistant Professor – Theatre: Voice and Movement educates in a variety of learning environments and activities that provide opportunities for students to develop to their fullest potential and achieve their learning objectives in the Theatre Arts program.
Graduation from an accredited institution with terminal, earned degree appropriate to discipline. ABD accepted. Knowledge and skill in current instructional theories, strategies, techniques, and discipline content. Evidence of potential for scholarly/creative work consistent with a teaching university. See preferred qualifications for discipline or program-specific minimum qualifications.
Graduation from an accredited institution with an MFA in Acting or closely related field with 5 years experience teaching at a college level required.
Current Vocal and Movement techniques and training methods.
Current Acting techniques and training methods.
Knowledge of Dialect coaching methods.
Effective instructional strategies and techniques.
Manage, motivate, and evaluate students and instruction.
Effective interpersonal, problem solving and decision-making skills.
Advanced verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present effectively to small and large groups.
