The Communication Coordinator develops and executes integrated communication initiatives and conceptualizes, plans, and implements the Washington State University Alumni Association’s internal and external communications to support a successful membership-driven organization that engages WSU alumni around the world.
Through composing, editing, and managing the production of a full range of material including print, web, email, social media, and more, the Communication Coordinator effectively supports the WSUAA’s mission to proactively increase WSUAA membership and expand the ways alumni and friends of WSU can become meaningfully engaged with the University. Through effective communications the Communication Coordinator helps ensure the success of all programs and services across the association.
A Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications, marketing or other relevant field AND two (2) years of professional experience in print OR broadcast news media, public relations, marketing including the use of electronic media or two (2) years of other relevant professional experience.
Experience developing a communications plan for an organization.
Experience managing communication projects from conceptualization to implementation.
Experience with proofreading and copy editing.
Demonstrated track record in working with alumni, volunteers, or other constituent groups.
Degree from or relationship with Washington State University.
Basic graphic design and video production experience.
Experience in higher education.
