Farmer School of Business, Miami University: Visiting Assistant Professor or Instructor in Business Communication (multiple positions) to teach multiple sections of BUS 102 Foundations of Business Communication and possibly some sections of BUS 308 Advanced Business Communication. Because of an expansion of the curriculum, we have openings for multiple full-time, benefits-eligible positions.
BUS 102 and BUS 308 are part of the required core curriculum for all Farmer School of Business majors. The courses focus on an integrated approach to teaching both oral and written business communication. BUS 102 addresses the foundations of rhetoric, composing and delivery processes (including team composing), and some common short-form genres that complement and extend student learning in other foundation courses. BUS 308 directly builds from BUS 102 and focuses on advanced rhetorical considerations, digital and intercultural communication, more extensive team communications, and research-based business writing and presenting. Both courses engage students in case-based learning.
PhD (for appointment as Visiting Assistant Professor), Master’s degree (for appointment as Instructor) in rhetoric and writing, communication, business, or related fields.
Teaching or work experience related to business communications.
