Bentley University invites applications for a post-doctoral fellowship in the Center for Integration of Science and Industry. The Center’s research, outreach, and educational activities focus on developing an interdisciplinary understanding of the process by which scientific discoveries are translated to create public value. Successful applicants will be part of a dynamic, interdisciplinary team of faculty, staff, students, and Executives in Residence under the supervision of Dr. Fred Ledley, Professor of Natural & Applied Sciences and Management. A particular focus of the Center’s research is the application of analytical methods to study technology maturation, product development, investment, and valuations for technological forecasting as well as data-driven product development and policy. Fellows will have an opportunity to learn business skills through research on business practices and collaboration with business faculty and Executives in Residence. This is a one-year appointment as post-doctoral fellow with the opportunity to extend based on satisfactory performance. The Center anticipates the availability of several positions becoming available in 2016-2017. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.

Required Qualifications

Candidates should have a doctorate degree, or equivalent terminal degree, in a relevant field of biomedical science, pharmaceutical science, engineering, informatics, mathematics, or public policy. Individuals transitioning from biomedical research to careers in the biopharmaceutical industry, consulting, or investment are particularly encouraged to apply. Individuals with working knowledge of bioinformatics, Python, R, or equivalent data analytical tools are particularly encouraged to apply. Individuals must have strong communication and writing skills, the ability to work constructively in a highly collaborative and interdisciplinary environment, and a commitment to maintaining high ethical and professional standards.
