Saint Louis University, a Catholic Jesuit institution dedicated to student learning, research, health care, and service is seeking applicants for a Histocompatibilty and Immunogenetics Laboratory Director in the Department of Surgery at Saint Louis University School of Medicine.
This position is expected to participate in consultation with physicians, clinical transplant meetings and provide clinical consultation to the on-call team. Responsibilities include overall operation and administration of the laboratory including the employment of personnel who meet the requirements of testing proficiently and assure compliance with applicable regulations. The director is also responsible for the technical and scientific oversight of the laboratory.
Requirements include an MD, PhD or MD/PhD (or equivalent) and must meet the qualification of a director of high complexity testing according to Federal CLIA requirements as defined in 42CFR-493.1441. Must be Board certified or eligible by the American Board of Histocompatiblity and Immunogenetics (ABHI).
The successful candidate will work side by side with the current Director for a period of time to facilitate laboratory testing in the presence of unusual circumstances, review molecular antibody testing, cross matching results, report creation and evaluation of pre-and post-transplant immunological risk.
