Frostburg State University, University Advancement Division invites applicants for the full-time, exempt position of Development Officer. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience and includes University System of Maryland benefits package. 

Responsibilities: Reporting to the Vice President for University Advancement, this position is responsible for new donor development and solicitation of leadership level gifts from prospective donors (alumni, parents, and other friends of the University) in support of University initiatives including athletics, endowed funds, capital projects, student and faculty development, etc. The successful candidate will support the University’s mission with an energetic and positive demeanor. 

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and professional or volunteer experience in philanthropic fundraising, nonprofit organizations, public relations, advertising, marketing, or related field. Proven ability to build and maintain good relationships with professional colleagues, donors, and community partners. Strong work ethic and attentiveness to detail. 

Preferred Qualifications: Experience in higher education fundraising. Excellent interpersonal, writing, speaking, telephone, and conversation skills. Willingness to work evenings and weekends, with extensive travel. Ability to work independently and cooperatively as part of a team. Ability to multi-task and keep multiple projects on schedule. Computer skills to perform the duties of the position, including working knowledge of shared database systems and Microsoft Office.
