This position exists to teach university level coursework in early childhood education (ECE) and other education courses. Establish and maintain partnerships with early childhood education providers that will benefit MSU Denver ECE preservice teachers.
Work collaboratively with schools and community agencies. Work effectively with colleagues to develop, evaluate, and teach ECE courses. Teach day and/or evening courses in undergraduate early childhood education (birth to age 8). Course may include: Family and Community; ECE Curriculum; Intro to Early Childhood Education; and Child Development, Evaluation and Assessment. Supervise clinical experiences and/or student teachers. Demonstrate commitment to teaching and advising to the University. Demonstrate sensitivity to the educational needs of students from diverse, urban populations.
Master’s degree related to early childhood education.
Doctorate in early childhood education or related field. Professional college or university teaching experience in early childhood education including online delivery. A minimum of five years professional experience working with children, families and communities in a variety of early childhood settings that does not include training received in the applicant’s own educational degree program. Experience collaborating in partnership with preschools, K-6 schools and early childhood agencies. Be sensitive to and knowledgeable about issues in the field of early childhood education. Work with and be sensitive to the educational needs of a diverse urban population.
