Performs a variety of complex administrative tasks involving some discretion and requiring moderate amounts of independent judgment related to the daily operations of the Global Initiatives unit. Responsibilities include communication, scheduling, registration, data collection and reporting, committees, and events.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities – Essential Functions
Coordinates Assistant Provost’s, staff, and office calendars; coordinates and schedules standing and ad hoc meetings and events.
Registration specialist tasks and responsibilities for credit and non-credit programs.
Reinforcement support to the Advising and Consulting Center functions.
Assists the Assistant Provost and others with routine to complex administrative functions requiring independent judgment.
Supports personnel search processes and planning; supports office and program budget processes, including P-card reconciliations, processing payments, and office supplies.
Monitor and maintain written, verbal, and technological communications, files, and correspondence.
Serves as informational resource to staff; investigates and resolves problems or difficulties related to area of expertise.
Assist in updating of web presence.
Acts as Passport Acceptance Agent.
Direct administrative supervision of student employees.
Generally typical office environment. May require considerable walking, standing, or bending. May have periodic assignments which entail dealing with modestly unpleasant conditions.
Requires nine months of coursework or training beyond high school in Business Administration and three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and expertise.
Strong communication skills; excellent interpersonal, organizational, and planning skills, proven customer service skills; ability to work cooperatively with others.
Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize on-going tasks and projects.
Knowledge of office applications, including data base applications.
Demonstrated experience collaborating effectively with colleagues.
