The Director of College Relations is responsible for strategic planning of communications and for the oversight of College-level print and electronic marketing materials.

Additional Department Summary:

This administrative position provides operational direction/supervision for the Honors College's efforts with public relations/marketing (both internal and external), Honors College mentoring programs (to include personal and professional development), public relations, and marketing. This position will have specific responsibilities for and offer leadership to the Honors College event planning, all publications (including the Honors College magazine "Mosaic"), and the Honors College Board of Visitors. This position will be the liaison with many campus partners which include, but are not limited to, the UA Office of Strategic Communications, the UA Alumni Association, and the Office of University Advancement. The Director will be the key component in any and all communications and efforts in conjunction with these offices to advance and promote the Honors College actions and narrative. The position will liaison with internal HC faculty (Mosaic magazine class), organizational executives, key campus stakeholders (Development, Communications, Public Relations, Career Center, etc.). These duties will include travel, interviewing, making presentations, and representing/promoting/recruiting for the Honors College and The University of Alabama.

Required Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of experience; OR Master's degree and one (1) year of experience.Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 21 years of age and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report as determined by the insurance carrier.

Skills and Knowledge:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong supervisory and leadership skills and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and 10 years of professional work and experience or Master's degree and at least 7 years of experience working with college students in public relations, communications, admissions, development, or other related field. 59 Monthly (exempt): - Minimum - $ 43887.96 Midpoint - $ 63648.00
