Works with departmental staff to design and conduct research projects.

Additional Department Summary:

The employee in this position will conduct evaluation research related to a variety of topics, including tobacco control, public policy, economic development, classroom innovations, women in STEM, and health. Working with a team, the person will be involved in all aspects of the research projects including data gathering, analysis, and report preparation. Responsibilities will include collecting and organizing data, conducting statistical analyses, writing reports. Work might involve supervision of graduate and undergraduate students as well as some travel within Alabama.

Required Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree in an appropriate field (field of study may vary depending on research subject area) with some previous research experience. Knowledge of basic research methods, good organizational skills and clear communication and writing skills; Knowledge of personal computers, along with basic computer applications to include word processing, database management and spreadsheet programs. Student or Graduate Assistant, Intern, or student oriented research experience will be considered. To be considered student experience, it must be detailed in the employment section on the application.

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications:

Valid U.S. driver's license required. Must be at least 21 years of age and have an acceptable motor vehicle report as determined by the insurance carrier.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree in a social science field; experience conducting policy analysis, market research, survey research, evaluations, statistical analysis; supervisory experience; experience working in a team structure with multiple tasks that are deadline driven; experience working with state and local government agencies, community leaders, and community-based organizations. 57 Monthly (exempt): - Minimum - $ 32614.44 Midpoint - $ 47299.20
