Under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Donor Relations, manages and coordinates the campus wide private scholarship award process, tracking proper use through designated criteria. Acknowledges scholarship supporters and donors by compiling and distributing various communications and financial reports to sponsors. Works with Financial Aid, Campus Units and students to resolve scholarship concerns.
Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor’s degree in a directly related field of study or a combination of education and experience totaling four years.
Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor’s degree in a related field plus one year’s directly related experience to the Summary of Duties OR any combination of education and experience related to the Summary of Duties totaling five years is preferred.
Knowledge of bookkeeping and/or accounting methods.
Knowledge of methods and techniques for reviewing, preparing, and analyzing financial statements.
Knowledge of accounting and reporting practices with respect to donor relations for higher education.
Knowledge of public fundraising and legal guidelines.
Knowledge of university policies and IRS rules for scholarships.
Very strong skills with both MS Excel and MS Access.
Proficient in MS Word.
Skills in Adobe Acrobat and Banner Finance.
Strong interpersonal skills with an emphasis in financial record keeping and gift acknowledgement.
Ability to pay acute attention to detail.
Ability to effectively manage financial records and financial information.
Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials.
Ability to work well with teams in large organizations with diverse constituencies and with rapidly changing priorities and deadlines.
