Detailed Job Description

Under the direction of the Director of Turning Point/Center for Personal and Career Development(CPCD), the Coordinator assists in directing the department with specific focus on marketing, community outreach, and collaboration with other Academic Outreach departments.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor’s degree in a directly related field of study or a combination of education and experience totaling four years.

Preferred Qualifications

Five years of experience in an area similar to the departmental focus.

Graduate from an accredited institution with a Master’s degree in education, psychology, sociology, social work, family life education, family relationships, or closely-related field.

Knowledge

Knowledge in family life, social work, continuing and community education, personal and professional development, and/or other related fields.

Knowledge of the grant writing process and grant management.

Broad understanding of adult learning theory, organizations, curriculum development, and building and maintaining strong community and business partnerships.

Knowledge of marketing strategies.

Strong understanding of work procedures and office equipment related to the needs of the department.

Skills

Effective written and verbal communication, public speaking, and rapport-building.

Exceptional skills in organization and maintenance of effective records management and information systems.

Effective skills in marketing, including social media and public relations.

Abilities

Ability to follow written/oral procedures and instructions.

Ability to work closely with direct supervisor and colleagues to implement the division’s strategic plan, goals, and innovations in a collaborative, team-oriented way.

Ability to work with students, faculty and the public effectively and courteously.

Ability to foster professional, working, and cooperative relationships with students, teachers, community leaders and groups, both inside and outside of the institution.

Ability to operate with maturity, professional demeanor, tact, and diplomacy.

Ability to prioritize and to change priorities as needs arise.

Ability to work in an office environment with minimum supervision.

Pay Range

$33,068 to $44,091
