Under guidance of the Associate Director, responsible for overseeing the daily operations within the Admissions Office including, but not limited to: supervision of admissions processing and transfer credit evaluations workflow and staff; management of recruitment calendar and onsite admission program; supervision of two temporary admissions counselors; and shared management of part-time temporary admissions support staff.
Work with the Associate Director in the planning and implementation of a strategic recruitment plan. As an admissions team member, the Assistant Director will also have shared team responsibilities including, but not limited to: developing and presenting information to, and meeting with, prospective undergraduate and graduate students; planning and participating in on- and off-campus recruitment events; reviewing applications for admission; serving on campus committees; and establishing and maintaining relationships/contacts with campus and community partners.
Travel, evening and weekend work required. Other duties as assigned by the Associate Director.
Positions require a Bachelor’s degree and four (4) years of professional work experience in student services or related education/experience. One (1) or more years of experience leading or directing the work of others. A Master’s degree in a related field may substitute for one (1) year of professional work experience. Any combination of relevant education and professional experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year‐for‐year basis.
Previous operations management and supervision experience in higher education admissions processing and/or student recruitment.
Master’s degree in a related field.
Track record of success working in a team environment and exhibiting excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated experience with student advising and recruitment.
Demonstrated experience with event planning and presentations.
Demonstrated success with program administration.
Relevant computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Demonstrated experience working with diverse populations such as underrepresented, non-traditional, first-generation, low income, and international.
