Hebrew College, one of the nation’s leading institutions of Jewish higher education, currently has a position available for a Director of Enrollment Management.

Located in Newton Centre, MA, Hebrew College promotes excellence in Jewish learning and leadership within a pluralistic environment of open inquiry, intellectual rigor, personal engagement and spiritual creativity. The college offers graduate degrees, certificates and rabbinical and cantorial ordination through its Rabbinical School, School of Jewish Music, Shoolman Graduate School of Jewish Education and Jewish studies and Hebrew language programs; community education for adult learners; and a supplemental Jewish high school and middle school. Many Hebrew College programs are offered entirely online or in combination with on-campus study.


The successful candidate will serve as the College’s senior admissions officer and oversee day-to-day operations in admissions, including all recruitment activities; research and planning; print and electronic communications; hiring and training of staff; budget management; financial aid; special marketing plans; and other recruitment initiatives. S/he will increase the visibility of Hebrew College and its programs, taking the initiative to provide significant input to the College marketing plan, working with staff to effect strategic media placement and implementing plans for marketing through print and electronic media.  The Director of Enrollment Management will represent our College at key events and meetings on and off campus, coordinating other staff as needed, and will stay abreast of trends in the Jewish community and in higher education and the recruitment marketplace. He or she will be an active member of the College’s management leadership team. 


  • Providing strategic leadership in advancing the College’s recruitment, retention and enrollment goals
  • Assuring effective use of technology and analysis of data in achieving enrollment objectives
  • Maintaining the College’s commitment to superior customer service
  • Setting and driving annual enrollment, as well as net tuition revenue goals, for each program
  • Balancing and managing brand awareness for the College as a whole in the context of strong individual programs
  • Integrating the Admissions process with Financial aid and Registration
  • Collaborating with senior management on a wide range of recruitment and marketing projects
  • Ensuring compliance with all Federal and State regulations a they relate to Admissions
  • Leading marketing initiatives including marketing analysis for current and potential future programs

Skills and knowledge required to fulfill the job responsibilities: 

  • Knowledge of and connections in the organized Jewish community including learning organizations in Israel and major leaders and educators and organizations in the North American Jewish community.
  • Demonstrated success in achieving enrollment targets
  • Strong creative and innovative capabilities balanced with an ability to successfully implement new initiatives and maximize available resources
  • Demonstrated marketing orientation
  • Proficiency with the use of technology in all phases of the enrollment process and skill in extrapolating and analyzing data to drive decision-making
  • Ability to inspire others and recognize that the achievement of enrollment objectives will necessarily engage the entire College community
  • Collegial and approachable style that invites collaboration and mutual support
  • Attitude of a consummate team player and collaborator who is able to build strong working partnerships across the institution and with many external constituencies (i.e. secondary educators, advising staff, professional association members, etc.)
  • Demonstrated skill in being a resourceful and resilient problem solver
  • Ability to lead change and help to shape the strength and character of the College
  • Practical experience in balancing revenue generation along with a sustained commitment to academic quality of all programs

Education and experience required to fulfill the job responsibilities: 

  • Knowledge of the Jewish community and Jewish education
  • A background that includes college admissions, financial aid and enrollment experience, including some exposure to private, tuition-driven higher education institutions
