Detailed Job Description

Manages construction projects on campus using generally accepted construction managemnt procedures i.e. project planning, scheduling, supervision, and coordination with various groups and individuals. Estimates projects for cost and schedule. Works with purchasing to procure the correct services for the project. Conducts various project meetings including owners meeting, progress meetings, coordination meetings and pre-construction and closeout meetings. Maintains accurate records and proper cost controls. Closes out projects completely compiling correct paperwork and completing all documentation.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation with a bachelor’s from an accredited institution in a related academic discipline plus one year of professional experience in project management or a combination of education and experience totaling five years.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelors Degree and 4 years construction management experience.


Knowledge of Construction Management principles, practice and techniques.

Knowledge of building design construction.

Knowledge of building codes and general accepted construction practices.

Knowledge of University and state procurement rules.


Skills in PC computer and standard writing, spreadsheet and scheduling software.

Skills to create a construction schedule.

Skills to communicate effectively with written, verbal and electronic means.


Ability to make timely decisions based on construction management principles and practices.

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Ability to read construction drawings and specifications.

Pay Range

$43,811 to $58,414
