Teaching and coordinating the professional on-line emphasis in Organizational Leadership for the department’s MA degree program.
THE DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNICATION STUDIES AT THE UNIVERSITY OF ALABAMA invites applicants to fill a full time, 3-year renewable contract teaching position, starting 16 August 2016, and to coordinate the professional on-line emphasis in Organizational Leadership for the department’s M.A. degree program. This is a non-tenure earning assistant professor position, renewable at the discretion of the University based on performance, need, and available funding. Applicants must have a completed PhD/EdD by 16 August 2016. Preferred candidates will also have experience in on-line teaching and course development, as well as teaching and scholarly expertise in organizational communication, emphasizing any of the following areas: leadership, small group communication, diversity, conflict resolution, and change. Experience working with or consulting for organizations is highly desirable.
The normal teaching load is 24 semester hours per academic year. Opportunities for summer employment exist. Undergraduate and graduate academic advising, departmental committee assignments, and professionally related service are expected. Evidence of strong teaching is required along with strong interpersonal, collaborative, and administrative skills.
