Faculty Position – Full-time Tenure, Department of Nursing.
This posting will be used to fill four positions.
Teach upper division courses in the nursing program. Teach 24 credits per academic year including evenings, weekends and on-line courses using multimedia and other technologies. Develop, implement, evaluate and update the purpose, mission and objectives of the nursing education program. Design, implement, and evaluate the curriculum using a written plan. Develop, evaluate and revise student admission, progression, retention and graduation policies within the policies of the University. Participate in academic advising and guidance of students and be sensitive to the needs of students from a diverse population. Plan and provide theoretical instruction and clinical or laboratory experiences that reflect an understanding of the mission, objectives and curriculum of the nursing education program. Plan, monitor and evaluate the instruction provided by ANIP, clinical faculty and preceptors. Evaluate student achievement of curricular objectives/outcomes related to nursing knowledge and practice. Serve on department, school and university committees. Participate in the tenure track process by active engagement in scholarly activities that support professional development and by providing service to the university and external community. The successful candidate must be willing to adhere to policies and procedures regarding students and faculty as established by the University and Department. This announcement is to fill four Full-Time Tenure Nursing faculty positions beginning in the 2016 fall semester with nursing experience in at least two of the following areas: health assessment, pediatrics, medical/surgical, mental health and pharmacology.
The University is particularly interested in applicants who have experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and a demonstrated commitment to improving access to higher education for under-represented groups.
An active unencumbered license to practice as a registered nurse in Colorado. Two years full-time, or equivalent, professional nursing clinical experience. Graduate degree in nursing from a Nursing Education Program with national nursing accreditation.
Doctorate in nursing or relevant field.
