Detailed Job Description

Under administrative direction, supervises, coordinates, and directs operational activities of the ITS Division to include Infrastructure & Operations, Customer Service, and Enterprise Products. Develops and executes a broad vision for effective information technology operations and related service delivery. Maintains the ITS service portfolio and continuously reviews quality level and costs of services. Ensures cohesive IT operations and coordinates activities between ITS operational departments.

Working knowledge of IT operational activities, process frameworks, and service delivery standards.
Strong customer service focused individual who can be seen as a trusted advisor to a broad set of stakeholders.
Strong understanding of financial procedures, contracts, and relationship building with internal and external customers.
Strong understanding of application development, management, and life-cycles.
Highly competent leader who is able to lead a diverse set of staff.
Ability to lead, teach, and mentor a diverse staff.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree; supplemented with ten (10) years related work experience.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Leads all IT operations related to Infrastructure & Operations, Customer Service, and Enterprise Products. Sets direction for ITS operational activities including sourcing options, quality control, and service level agreements. Oversees planning, execution, and maintenance of service enhancements and new services.

Creates and maintains short-term and long-term plans regarding ITS products and services including strategies for optimizing cost and quality. Aligns operational activities to ITS mission, vision, and strategic objectives.

Develops standards, policies, procedures, and processes related to the effective delivery of IT services. Is responsible for ensuring a process framework is in place to guide operational activities.

Regularly engages the SLU user community to assess how ITS operations can be improved to meet the needs of the University.

Provides leadership and works with directors, managers, and supervisors to develop and retain highly competent, service-oriented staff through selection, training, and day-to-day management practices that support the University’s and ITS Division’s mission, objectives and service expectations.
