Employment Start Date: As soon as possible.  
Salary Range: $105,983 - $122,688 Annual Salary (Range 30: Management Salary Schedule Fiscal Year 2012-2013).
Benefits Available: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Income Protection and Retirement. Management positions include 20 vacation days, 17 holidays and 6 Administrative Leave days per year.

Position Summary: The Dean of Nursing and Allied Health is responsible for the registered Nursing program, nursing assistant training program, family consumer studies and health courses. This position is responsible for compliance within the guidelines and criteria established by the Board of Registered Nursing (BRN) and the National League for Nursing (NLN); secure facilities appropriate for clinical laboratories; conduct classroom lectures and discussions; supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned personnel. The dean position requires strong communication, leadership and administrative skills as well as knowledge and expertise in the areas of Nursing and Allied Health.

POSITION PURPOSE: Reporting to the Vice President of Academic Affairs, the Dean of Nursing and Allied Health provides for the educational welfare of students and the professional needs of staff in the division. Working cooperatively with the staff, and operating within established duties and responsibilities, the Dean has the responsibility and authority to make decisions on matters related to the division: plan, organize, administer, develop, and evaluate the programs, projects, and activities of assigned instructional divisions; provide leadership for faculty and staff in offering quality educational services for college students; and supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned personnel.  

Minimum Qualifications:
1. Master's degree in nursing or related field.
2. One year of experience as a registered nurse providing direct patient care, one year in an administrative position, and two years experience teaching in a pre- or post-licensure nursing program.
3. Demonstrated sensitivity, knowledge, and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, gender, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of the students we serve and sensitivity to and knowledge and understanding of groups historically underrepresented, and groups who may have experienced discrimination.
4. Success integrating diversity as appropriate into the major duties outlined in the job description and in the duties listed in the District's hiring policy; or demonstrated equivalent transferable skills to do so.
