Detailed Job Description

Responsible for supporting the overall development of the project. Assists with project design, management, and implementation. Promotes the project and serves as liaison between the project and contacts internal and external to the University. Position may also supervise students, provide general office assistance, create promotional materials, and assist in the development of other potential projects.

Additional Department Summary:

This position will direct and facilitate overall development, oversight, implementation and administration for the University of Alabama/Pickens Health Care Teaching County Partnership, working with participating UA colleges/programs and Pickens Co organizations on pilot projects including the fellowship and overseeing the development, implementation and sustainability. The position will serve as a liaison into the community, promoting the partnership and its projects to the people of Pickens Co and the University community, and direct other educational, administrative and fiscal activities and programs of this initiative as required. This position will work strategically with the project's Steering Committee, the College of Community Health Sciences, other UA colleges/programs, program evaluators and Pickens County organizations and programs, legislative staff and members, and potential external funders toward the creation and sustainability of a successful initiative. The position will work largely in, and ideally be imbedded in, the community to better direct all aspects of the program.

Required Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and one year of experience.

Skills and Knowledge:

Experience in program administration and management. The position demands the ability to work independently, take initiative, and to work on multiple tasks simultaneously. Excellent verbal and writing skills. Strong interpersonal communication skills essential, along with an understanding of and respect for rural life and its values. Ability to function independently. Proficiency in the use of personal computers and standard application software (word processing, spreadsheet, and/or database management programs).

Preferred Qualifications:

Masters Degree or higher and one (1) year experience, Bachelors degree or higher and a minimum of two (2) years related experience. Preferable degree areas include nursing, child development, social work, public health or another science, human service or health management related field. Experience in community-based academic education program development. Preference will be given to candidates with a Master's Degree in a related field. 57 Monthly (exempt): - Minimum - $ 32614.44 Midpoint - $ 47299.20
