Under administrative direction of the Chairman, oversees financial and clinical operations of the divisions in the department of Anesthesiology; monitors clinical billing and productivity; manages fiscal budgeting, business plans, and financial accounts and operations; develops and implements policies and procedures and assists with deveopling and implementing strategic plans; performs cost analyses; prepares statistical reports; prepares Faculty productivity reports; supervises staff; manages human resource activities; drives new business and expands current business units; achieves a positive net income year to year.

Minimum Qualifications

Four-year college education
- MBA or Master’s degree in Heath Administration preferred

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Oversees financial and clinical operations in the department of Anesthesiology; supervises staff; prepares, administers and analyzes department budgets; resolves budget issues and legal matters; develops and administers financial policies, processes budget requests, justifications, expenses, and revisions; monitors revenues and expenses; provides oversight of issues to clinical areas. Oversees clinical billing activity performance; establishes fiscal controls.

Manages the development of business plans and contracts; provides daily management of programs, practices, and contract services; advises and assists with financial preparation for external agreements and leases; performs strategic analysis of business plan tactical implementation and integration with marketing plan; assesses services to determine customer needs. Works as an effective liason with the SLUCare Administration and the OCEO especially Practice Management Operations (PM) and the School of Medicine Finance Office

Assures accurate and timely reporting procedures on fiscal activities; reviews bid proposals and invoice transactions; assists with resource distribution; oversees grant preparation. Contract renewals and department technology activities.

Assists with developing and implementing strategic, long, and short-term plans to assure fiscal growth, solvency, and accountability for the Desloge Towers and Cardinal Glennon locations; provides advice after investigating and analyzing financial, personnel, and logistic phases of business proposals; facilitates internal and external communication; manages human resource activities; assits with staff and faculty development. Leads process improvement initiatives

Performs cost analyses and creative cost containment; identifies weak fiscal financial performance; recommends financial solutions and implements corrective action plans; develops and prepares statistical reports. Drives business growth; expands current business units; develops new business initiatives; works effectively with marketing representatives to drive new business. Reports to the Chariman of the Department and works closely with all Divisions Directors, Faculty and Staff

Performs other duties as assigned.
