Job Responsibilities


Supervises and monitors the day-to-day operations of the College Success Program with all assigned team members

Works collaboratively with College Assessment Center, faculty and others to schedule and execute the skills testing and upgrading activities at each high school location

Works effectively with the Metropolitan Campus President’s Office, Dean of Academic Affairs and Dean of Student Affairs for the First-Year Experience for entering freshmen

Collaborates with the College Planning and Institutional Effectiveness Office and the Grants Management Office to collect, and report data for all aspects of this grant

Works collaboratively with the College’s Foundation Office to write proposals, secure funding, etc.

Plans and coordinates the College Success Summer Academy

Plans and executes curriculum alignment activities including parent, teacher, counselor and student workshops

Maintains communications with the high school and post-secondary partners at each school site, faculty members and the college administration

Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications



Master’s degree in a related field and a minimum of five years demonstrated experience coordinating education programs and managing grant-funded programs

Demonstrated experience supervising, planning, assigning, scheduling and ensuring the quality of the work of others

Demonstrated experience planning, preparing, and monitoring a business area’s budget

Demonstrated experience making sound decisions that affect a work unit or team

Demonstrated effectiveness in a role requiring dynamic and abstract problem solving methods in adaptive situations


Possesses working knowledge of remedial education concepts, practices and procedures with the ability to use in varied situations as it pertains to the departmental focus

Excellent organizational and prioritization skills with demonstrated attention to detail

Ability to be creative and exercise initiative

Possesses excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills

Ability to adjust to changing priorities and respond appropriately to deadlines

Proven leadership skills and ability to foster a team environment and work collaboratively

Demonstrated intermediate Project Management skills

Intermediate-level proficiency with Microsoft: Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Ability to confidentially and discreetly handle subject matters requiring privacy and sensitivity

Ability to collaborate, persuade, gain cooperation and acceptance of ideas on significant projects

Ability to develop and maintain relationships with key contacts to enhance work flow and quality

Sensitivity to respond appropriately to the needs of a diverse population

Preferred Qualifications



Master’s in Education, Higher Education, or non-profit Management

Demonstrated experience in managing/directing grants in a higher educational environment

Demonstrated project management experience

Work Schedule

Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Early mornings, evenings, and weekends periodically.
