Under the direction of the Sr. Vice President of Academic Affairs, the Assistant to the Sr. Vice President of Academic Affairs serves as the principle resource for administering, overseeing, and facilitating the financial operations for the division of Academic Affairs. This position is responsible for extracting, investigating, researching, gathering, analyzing and summarizing data and developing mathematical models and projections about various aspects of the community and institution, including enrollment, educational attainment, social outcomes of education, classroom use, instructional modalities, expenditures and other resource related matters, in support of academic planning, policy making and other decision making. Provides statistical reports to Academic Affairs administrators, including the SVPAA, AVPs, deans and college financial managers for planning, accountability and management guidance. Develops and maintains data as necessary.
Graduation from an accredited institution with a Bachelor’s degree and 5-7 years of experience OR Master’s degree and 3-5 years of experience Or a combination of education and successful budgeting/accounting experience totaling 11 years.
Master’s degree preferred with project management and financial modeling experience.
Demonstrated knowledge of academic fiscal management, academic planning, and space planning.
Comprehensive knowledge of methods and techniques of accounting, auditing, and budget preparation.
Demonstrated skills in working with senior administrators and constituencies.
Demonstrated organization, management and budgeting skills, including preparation and interpretation of reports, graphs, charts and tables
Skills in the use of Banner (Enterprise Resource Planning and Accounting system).
Skills in project management and financial modeling.
Effective Oral and written communication skills.
Creative and analytical thinking skills.
Demonstrated ability to support and work in a collaborative team environment.
Demonstrated analytic capability with a background in academic planning, and budgeting.
Ability to exercise interpersonal, problem-solving, and decision-making skills and to effectively apply general principles to specific conditions.
