Western Oregon University (WOU) invites applications for the position of Dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. The Dean is the chief administrator of the College and oversees seven academic divisions: Business and Economics; Computer Science, Creative Arts, Humanities, Natural Sciences and Mathematics, Psychology, and Social Science. The divisions are further subdivided into traditional departments with a total faculty body of approximately 200. The College delivers 70% of the university’s academic operations with the College of Education the remainder. The College offers a limited number of master’s level graduate programs. The Dean reports directly to the Vice President for Academic Affairs and interacts extensively with other university offices. The College operates in a culture of shared governance and strong support of the intrinsic value of the liberal arts.
