Detailed Job Description

The Graphic Designer Senior works to further the strategic initiatives of The University of Alabama through the creation and execution of audience and mission appropriate graphic design. All of their design serves to project, strengthen, and sustain a positive image of the institution. The position requires the ability to think and plan strategically as part of a team and the ability to take responsibility for projects, following through from conception to completion and exercising leadership in the interpretation and implementation of the University's unifying graphic standards.

Additional Department Summary:

This position offers opportunities for creativity and innovation in the promotion of programs and events in the Division of Student Affairs and individual departments through a variety of print and digital media.

Required Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or higher in art, commercial art, graphic design, visual communication, or other relevant field and three or more years relevant experience in design OR an associate's degree in art, commercial art, graphic design, visual communication, or other relevant field and five or more years relevant experience in design.

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications:

Knowledge of and experience with InDesign, Illustrator, and PhotoShop. Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 21 years of age and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report as determined by the insurance carrier.

Skills and Knowledge:

Ability to communicate effectively with various SA department liaisons, Strategic Communications professional staff, printing professionals, and other media development professionals regarding creative support for program and service promotion. Proficiency in computer skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of video production. 57 Monthly (exempt): - Minimum - $ 32614.44 Midpoint - $ 47299.20
