Under general direction, provides administrative support for the clinical, academic and research missions of the Interventional Radiology Division. This work requires knowledge of specialized medical/scientific terminology.

Bachelor’s degree; supplemented with one (1) year of related experience. An additional one year of related experience using medical/scientific terminology is required.
Serves as administrative liaison for clinical services provided by the Interventional Radiology (IR) Division, coordinates patient care scheduling; ensures insurance authorization; communicates chemotherapy orders, Y90 paperwork and labs; gathers clinical information and interacts with patients, as needed. Acts as a liaison between referring physicians, clinical staff, patients, facilities and departments. Provides technical support by creating and maintaining databases/spreadsheets with clinical data. Assists with continual improvement of scheduling processes, maintains procedure logs; creates and maintains scheduling information for various procedures, assists with coordinating patient follow-up and tracks no-shows.
Drafts documents for Interventional Radiology educational programs, ensures compliance with Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) and other regulations; monitors housestaff compliance with policies and procedures; maintains Graduate Medical Education (GME) track; ensures completion of documentation and credentialing of graduate medical education training; maintains personnel records, rotations and call schedules; coordinates the evaluation process for the IR educational program; coordinates accreditation site visits; assists with budget projections; compiles and submits reports to multiple professional organizations; maintains web-based accreditation surveys.
Coordinates housestaff recruitment, on-boarding and off-boarding for Interventional Radiology residency, fellowship and clerkship programs; reviews and screens applications and notifies candidates of decisions; coordinates interviews; oversees application; arranges orientation activities; ensures attendance at required functions; schedules clerkships for medical students; arranges graduation activities for residents ensuring receipt of certificates upon completion; maintains records of attendance for verification of training.
Maintains multiple Interventional Radiology calendars and schedules; composes and types various documents; schedules appointments and arranges meetings; types documents from draft, notes or transcribing machine; performs duties requiring knowledge of specialized medical/scientific terminology. Works with Research Coordinator to support research/academic projects of the division. answers phone; refers and routes calls; responds to requests for information and assists with travel arrangements.
Provides backup to Chair’s Assistant (Administrative Assistant, Sr.) and Medical Secretaries; assists with development and maintenance of department websites; performs other duties as assigned.
