The University of Pittsburgh is currently seeking a qualified candidate to fulfill the Director of Admissions & Financial Aid Information Systems position in the Admissions & Financial Aid department.
The Director of Admissions & Financial Aid Information Systems (DAFAIS) is responsible for directing information services operations required to meet technology and business needs for the Office of Admissions & Financial Aid (OAFA). The DAFAIS reports to the Chief Enrollment Officer (CEO) and serves the CEO, OAFA, the Office of the Provost, and the university in support of meeting enrollment objectives for the Pittsburgh and regional campuses.The DAFAIS works collaboratively with the CEO and other members of OAFA to identify technology solutions while ensuring user needs are addressed comprehensively and effectively.
Additional Education and/or Experience Essential to the Position:
REQUIRED: Person must be mature, have 6-9 years of increasing responsibility and demonstrated experience with large data systems and systems analysis or a Master’s degree with five years demonstrated experience with large data systems and systems analysis. Position requires formal training or hands-on experience in one of each of the following technologies: Relational Database (Oracle, DB2, Access, MySQL); Operating systems (Unix, Linux, Windows 2000, Windows XP); SQL; HTML; support of LAN/WAN environments to include Windows 2000, Linux and Novell servers. This position requires supervisory experience; experience with Web development and PC based databases, query tools, data management and reporting; and demonstrated use of analytical skills to analyze requirements and design and develop systems to meet client needs.
The incumbent evaluates business processes, identifies system needs, and implements new hardware, software, and systems enhancements. Exercises judgment in solving systems problems.
