Detailed Job Description

Review, analyze, and modify the programming systems including encoding, testing, debugging, and documenting programs to support an organization's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) applications.
Maintain and support administrative systems and data within the Enterprise Resource Planning environment; occasionally under the direction of a Senior Oracle Developer.
Collaborate with departments, administrative and academic officers, and other public agencies to determine their current and future system needs.  

Minimum Qualifications

This position is a career ladder position and will be placed at one of the following levels depending on qualifications:
Grade 38 - Programmer Analyst
Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor's degree in a related field; OR an associate's degree and two years of experience related to the summary of duties; OR any combination of education and/or experience related to the summary of duties totaling four years.
- Receipt of an Oracle Certified Assoicate (OCA) certification within one year of the hire date for this position.
Grade 41 - Senior Programmer Analyst
Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor's degree in a related field and one year of experience related to the summary of duties; OR an associate's degree and three years of experience related to the summary of duties; OR any combination of education and/or experience related to the summary of duties totaling five years.
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of Oracle programming (i.e., SQL, PL/SQL), having passed either the 1Z0-007 Introduction to Oracle 9i: SQL, OR the 1Z0-001 Introduction to Oracle: SQL and PL/SQL exam.
- Further demonstrate a working knowledge of Oracle programming by receiving an Oracle Certified Associcate (OCA) certification within one year of hire date for this position.
Grade 45 - Oracle Developer
Graduation from an accredited institution with a master's degree in a related field; OR a bachelor's degree in a related field and two years of experience related to the summary of duties; OR an associate's degree and four years of experience related to the summary of duties; OR any combination of education and/or experience related to the summary of duties totaling six years. Oracle Certified Associate (OCA) Certification.  

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

(1) Demonstrate a working knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL, Java; by having received an Oracle Certified Associate (OCA) certification within one year of the hire date for this position.
(2) Demonstrate a familiarity with Banner Enterprise Application (preferred); web technologies such as HTML, JavaScript, and CSS; report writing and documentation while relying on instructions and guidelines to perform the functions of the job;
(3) Knowledge and familiarity with standard IT concepts, practices and procedures pertaining to relational databases, data manipulation, and implementation of software;
(4) Ability to exercise effective interpersonal, problem solving, team oriented, and decision-making skills where a certain degree of creativity and latitude is required;
(5) Ability to think logically, resolve problems, identify tasks, and develop modular programming steps working under immediate supervision;
(6) Ability to handle multiple priorities and requests from campus departments performing a variety of tasks;
(7) Additional preferred skills: Object Oriented Programming, Groovy on Grails, jQuery, Data Warehousing, WebFOCUS, Model View Controller Design, Microsoft Office, Toad, and Pro*C.
