The Assistant Director for Transfer Recruitment/Transfer Coordinator will assist with the development and implementation of transfer student recruitment and yield plans that are well-researched, pragmatic, and consistent with the University’s mission. The Assistant Director for Transfer Recruitment/Transfer Coordinator will work with the Senior Associate Director, transfer team members, admission staff, academic divisions, other university offices, and community colleges to implement these plans. In addition, the Assistant Director for Transfer Recruitment/Transfer Coordinator will work under the guidance of and in collaboration with the Senior Associate Director to visit, strengthen and develop partnerships and articulation agreements with community colleges within a designated recruitment market. The position includes responsibility for assisting with the coordination of the transfer process, application and scholarship review, credit evaluations and other general admission counseling duties such as application review, admission presentations, and admission special events. This position also assists with the management and oversight of the Pathways and Spring Admit programs for first-year students.
Assist with the development and implementation of a transfer student recruitment and yield plan that is well-researched, pragmatic, and consistent with the University’s mission.
Work collaboratively with Assistant Deans in Academic Divisions, the offices of the One- Stop for Student Success Services, Student Success Center, University Registrar, Student Financial Assistance, Student Affairs, Housing, and Orientation to streamline and improve the transfer process.
Collaborate with Enrollment Operations to streamline processes related to transfer admission, communication and application review.
Assist with the development, implementation and evaluation of transfer recruitment and yield communications including; print and electronic communication, websites, and social media.
Coordinate on and off-campus transfer student recruitment and yield events and campaigns.
Coordinate and manage the transfer advisory board.
Manage a transfer student recruitment territory.
Correspond with students and their families through prospect management including the use of email, phone calls, and social media.
Work with the Senior Associate Director develop and strengthen partnerships and articulation agreements with selected community colleges.
Make regularly scheduled recruitment visits to community colleges within a geographic area to meet with prospective students and transfer coordinators.
Conduct transfer application review and assist with the selection of transfer scholarship recipients.
Utilize Transferology and credit evaluation tools to assist transfer students.
Assist the Division of Student Affairs and regional campus staff with the transition of Pathways and relocation students to the Oxford campus.
Assist with the coordination and implementation of the Spring Admit Program.
Utilize a customer relations management system (Slate) to document all activity, interactions and statistical records of prospective transfer students.
Collect, analyze and utilize transfer student data to develop reports.
Actively participate in transfer admission and transfer recruitment-related professional organizations and activities.
First-year recruitment travel and admission application review as assigned.
Conduct admission presentations and perform counselor on duty responsibilities.
Perform other duties as assigned.
One to three years of full-time, professional experience in higher education or business related field.
Diplomatic and possess exceptional written and oral communication skills and group presentation skills.
Critical thinker and worker with advanced problem-solving capabilities, creativity, and strong work ethic.
Demonstrated integrity and a team-approach to solve recruitment and retention challenges.
Proven ability to work with diverse constituencies.
Must be a collaborative team player while also able to work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Must be able to perform overnight and weekend recruitment and travel.
Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Two to five years of experience working in higher education, preferably working with transfer students in admission, orientation, academic advising or related field.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience with computer systems and various software applications, including Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint including familiarity with both online and web-based recruitment techniques.
Experience in articulation agreement implementation.
Demonstrated ability to coordinate a transfer student program that is innovative and results oriented.
