Under the general supervision and guidance of the Program Director, coordinates orientation sessions for incoming freshman and transfer students. Coordinates orientation activities with key stakeholders (i.e administration, faculty and staff) to ensure that accurate information and instructions are provided during the orientation process. Assists with hiring and training orientation leaders and supervises and guides them during orientation.
Graduation from an accredited college or university with an associate’s degree with two years of experience in youth programs or event management or a combination of education and experience related to the Summary of Duties totaling four years.
Knowledge of orientation best practices and procedures.
Knowledge of theories dealing with student success and retention.
Knowledge of student development theory and practice.
Knowledge and computer skills in word processing, desktop publishing, spreadsheets and other basic functions (email, Internet, etc.)
Skills in development and coordination of special events, specifically new student, parent and family programs.
Ability to train employees, volunteers, and students in operation of programs.
Ability to develop orientation programs and related events.
Ability to provide engaging verbal presentations to large audiences.
Ability to draft grammatically correct and effective written communications.
Ability to use standard office equipment (copier, fax machine, etc.)
