The newly created division on the regional campuses seeks a Department Chair for the Humanities and Creative Arts department to provide academic and administrative leadership and to manage the work of the Department.
The department chair leads the strategic initiatives of the department. In addition to teaching, specific duties and responsibilities include: budget oversight; curriculum development and implementation; recruitment and professional development of faculty; recommendations to the Dean for merit-based salary increases; hiring, mentoring and supervision of faculty and staff; scheduling; communication of University and divisional policies and practices to the Department; representation of the College of Liberal Arts and Applied Science to the University and broader public. Additional chair responsibilities are outlined in the Miami University Policy and Information Manual.
Tenure at Miami University and rank of Associate or Full Professor; discipline must fall under this new department; excellent record of accomplishment in teaching, service and research.
Experience on the regional campuses; administrative experiences suggesting a demonstrated ability to lead an academic department.
