Job Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• May work closely with Degree in Three (D3), TRIO, and/or High Tech Academy (HTA) staff and administrators to create a clearly defined transfer process and system for developing and maintaining academic plans for each student
• May be responsible for the systemic tracking of D3, TRIO, and/or HTA students transferring to a four year institution
• May work closely with upper-classmen to increase Tri-C completion rates by creating a clearly defined transfer process and system of developing and maintaining academic plans for each student
• May work with IPEDS cohort students to increase completion and transfer rates
• May be responsible for the systemic tracking of transfer-ready students transferring to and from Tri-C
• Coordinates support efforts for new, continuing and transfer students including recruitment and retention strategies
• Assists in faculty development and student events communication efforts with transfer students and assigned Campus faculty
• Assists in the institutionalizing new practices and improvements in ongoing operations.
• Assists in the systemic tracking of transfer students who use the services of the Transfer Center
• May represent the department at College-wide events or to community constituents as directed
• Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING
• Master’s degree in education or a related field and a minimum of two years of demonstrated post-secondary instructional and/or student services experience
• Demonstrated experience making sound decisions that affect a work unit or team
• Demonstrated experience in a role requiring diverse problem solving methods in a variety of situations

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES
• Possesses working knowledge of student completion concepts, practices and procedures with the ability to use in varied situations as it pertains to the departmental focus
• Possesses strong organizational and time-management skills
• Possesses excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
• Works accurately with great attention to detail
• Excellent customer service skills and proven ability to develop and sustain productive customer relationships
• Demonstrated basic project management skills
• Demonstrated intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Ability to confidentially and discreetly handle subject matters requiring privacy and sensitivity
• Ability to collaborate, persuade and gain cooperation and acceptance of ideas on significant projects
• Ability to develop and maintain relationships with key contacts to enhance work flow and quality
• Sensitivity to appropriately respond to the needs of a diverse population
