With an emphasis on visual storytelling, the Public Relations Coordinator develops and implements tactics to promote the college by leveraging technology and the most current public relations approaches, such as content creation and curation, mobile, social media, blogging and more. In addition, the Public Relations Coordinator helps coordinate the college's day-to-day public relations and publicity opportunities to reach its many diverse audiences.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Work closely with the assistant director and PRM team to identify and prioritize college promotional and story opportunities.
Serve as a primary creator of digital content in support of college's public relations efforts.
Develop, write and produce a wide variety of compelling stories that can be shared across multiple platforms (social media, website, blogs, etc.) to reach the college's diverse range of target audiences.
Serve as team lead for media monitoring software; monitor news coverage, relevant issues and trends; build and maintain influencer lists (media, bloggers, higher education outlets, trade publications, etc.); distribute news releases and stories; develop news coverage reports.
Assist with writing and editing content for college publications (e.g. President's ezine, Bird's Eye View, AACC News Roundup)
Attend a wide variety of college and student events and activities; take photos or short videos, conduct interviews, post to social media, etc.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with college's "internal" clients to stay on top of college promotional opportunities.
Support the public relations team in crafting pitches and conducting outreach to news media and other influencers.
Other duties as assigned by Assistant Director or Executive Director.
