Bentley University has an immediate opening for an experienced full time (9 month) Nurse Practitioner to join our outstanding team of Nurse Practitioners, Registered Nurse, Physician-Consultants, Nutritionist, Health Promotion Specialists and Administrative Assistants in a busy health center, providing confidential, evidence based, high quality, timely care that is respectful to all individuals. We believe in a collaborative model of health care with three key components including health care, counseling and wellness promotion.
Master’s Degree from college or university from a Nurse Practitioner program plus 3 years of strong clinical experience and decision making in Family Medicine, Adult Internal Medicine, Primary Care or Urgent Care. Must have excellent clinical experience and understanding and appreciation of adolescent development and their health concerns and issues. Must have excellent communication skills with patients, their families and colleagues. Experience in providing culturally competent health care is desirable.
Computer experience with electronic health records required. Must be able to practice independently but consult with the director, associate director, physician-consultant and nurse practitioner colleagues as needed. Recommended experience: Triage, Emergency Room. Position reports to the Associate Dean of Wellness/Director of the Center for Health and Wellness. Responsibilities include taking a thorough medical history, performing physical exams including gynecological exams. Contraceptive counseling, lab tests and venipuncture, treatment and prescriptions according to practice guidelines, evidence-based medicine and in accordance with the collaborative agreement with the physician-consultant; provision of close follow up of patients; triage of patients with acute urgent medical situations and referrals as needed for appropriate medical or psychological emergency or follow up care. Keeping up to date with medical literature and active participation in weekly clinical case conferences
This is a 9 month full-time academic year position. Schedule – 35 hours per week for 39 weeks.
