Detailed Job Description

The Assistant Director of Undergrad Admissions assumes responsibility for the planning, implementing, management, and administration of the University's comprehensive orientation program and various special events supporting the Office of Undergraduate Admissions and Scholarships.

Additional Department Summary:

Under the direction of the Associate Director, this position coordinates Bama Bound, UA's new student orientation for all new freshmen and transfer students; the Assistant Director supervises a Coordinator of Orientation and Special Programs, selects and supervises a 40-50 member student support team (Avanti), supervises 5-6 undergraduate student workers, 2 graduate students, and 1 Program Assistant, and assists the Associate Director in managing a budget of over $600,000. The assistant director also provides programming and operational direction for an array of activities advancing The University of Alabama including University Days, college visits for special constituencies, game day activities, and special interest high school events . The Assistant Director also assists in marketing the University's K-12 Summer Academic Programs initiatives.

Required Minimum Qualifications

A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study with a minimum of three (3) years of related work experience OR Master's degree in a relevant field of study with one (1) year of related work experience OR Bachelor's degree in an unrelated field of study with four (4) years of related work experience.

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications:

Valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 21 years of age and have an acceptable motor vehicle report as determined by the insurance carrier.

Preferred Qualifications:

Prefer one year supervisory experience with student staff members responsible for recruitment, transition, special events, or related duties. Prefer a Bachelor's degree or higher in a student-oriented field. Strong writing and proofing skills. 58 Monthly (exempt): - Minimum - $ 37835.16 Midpoint - $ 54870.36
