The Coordinator of Placement Testing position is responsible for coordinating and supervising the day-to-day operational activities in the Office of Testing Services. Responsibilities include new student assessment and placement tests, online examinations for academic departments; make up exam service, Major Field Tests, CLEP exams, ACT exams, assorted national exams, courtesy exams, and various other exams as needed. The coordinator works with the Asst. Director of Testing Services in the hiring, training, and management of student employee proctors for the Testing Center. The coordinator assists with program planning, office self-assessment and report generation, cash flow, office budget, and other activities as needed.
Coordinates office training for student employees and graduate assistants, serves as the lead point of contact for front desk operations. Serves as the lead customer service coordinator and ensures that testing operations adhere to strict standards that protect test integrity. Manages proctoring operations to ensure student and faculty confidentiality. Regularly communicates with several offices including the Office of Admissions, Registrar, Orientation, Testing, Access Center, Human Resources, Extended campus, AHEC, Academic Affairs, IT, and Student Academic Success programs. This position will also be in contact with the College Board and ACT. Handles other tasks and serves on committees as assigned by direct supervisor.
This position has a special focus on placement testing. The coordinator will seek out new opportunities to improve processes and policies related to implementation of placement tests. The coordinator will research and implement new outreach strategies for communicating with students prior to placement testing and collaborate with other campus offices to help students prepare for placement testing.
Bachelor’s degree and two years of experience providing students with supporting services or experience with exam proctoring.
A Master’s degree.
Two years of working in a testing center in Higher Education.
Experience providing customer service and front desk operations management.
Experience providing training or workshops.
Experience or ability to comply with test proctoring policies and procedures to ensure test integrity.
Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to or experience collaborating and coordinating with various campus offices and individuals to implement effective testing process for students.
