Job Responsibilities

Assists Executive Director and works with members of the College community to develop a College-wide plan for grant and gift requests

Provides educational and support sessions to College internal community regarding securing external funds; and represents the Foundation and College at external meetings

Develops communication materials regarding Foundation and College initiatives

Provides support to the Resource Development Team and Tri-C Foundation Board by maintaining relationships with donors, recommends potential funding opportunities, prepares proposals, ensures donor reporting and donor requirements are fulfilled, and engages in prospect research

Produces presentation materials/written correspondence for the Tri-C Foundation and College-wide initiatives

Assists the Resource Development Team with the implementation of meetings and events, the creation of grant proposals for submission to appropriate funders and the development of communication materials

Records information within the fundraising database, generates mailing lists, appeals and reports, and maintains continuous system and donor acknowledgement improvement for the Resource Development Team

Coordinates gift and grant compliance as well as terms and conditions for all funding secured through Tri-C and the Tri-C Foundation and assists in preparation of reports and audits

Manages and initiates collaboration for grant and prospect identification funding including research of external funding opportunities, cultivation, solicitation, proposal development, and project monitoring for compliance and reporting

Collaborates with the internal project team to gather pertinent information, as needed, for projects including scholarship coordination

Independently produces accurate and timely work products under strict deadlines

Analyzes data, formulates and presents conclusions

Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications


Bachelor’s Degree

Minimum of three years of demonstrated experience in a fundraising, community engagement, or communications role

Demonstrated experience making sound decisions that affect a work unit or team

Demonstrated experience in a role requiring diverse problem solving methods in a variety of situations


Possess working knowledge of development concepts, practices and procedures with the ability to use in varied situations as it pertains to the departmental focus

Possess excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills

Possess strong organizational and time-management skills

Work accurately with great attention to detail

Ability to prioritize/handle multiple tasks and work with deadlines in a dynamic environment

Ability to promote collaboration, teamwork, and involve all stakeholders in decision-making processes

Excellent customer service skills and proven ability to develop and sustain productive customer relationships

Ability to effectively complete work assignments independently

Intermediate-level project management skills

Intermediate-level proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Ability to confidentially and discreetly handle subject matters requiring privacy and sensitivity

Ability to collaborate, persuade, gain cooperation and acceptance of ideas on significant projects

Ability to develop and maintain relationships with key contacts to enhance work flow and quality

Possess sensitivity to appropriately respond to the needs of a diverse population

Preferred Qualifications


Demonstrated experience developing and implementing successful electronic and social media materials and campaigns

Demonstrated experience executing electric donation campaigns for the non-profit sector

Demonstrated experience using the Raiser’s Edge and NetCommunity platforms

Demonstrated experience in a higher education environment

Work Schedule

Standard College hours of operation, Monday through Friday 8:30am – 5:00pm. Evening and weekend needs communicated by supervisor.
