The Senior Manager, Administrative Services, is responsible for the overall management of administrative services for Prosser-IAREC. Serves as the principal contact for administrative concerns and unit activity, including administering accounting information systems functions; ensuring compliance with university, state and federal regulations; providing analysis and reports used to track financial resources and outcomes; and establishing rates and determining cost-effective methods of conducting business.
Responsible for directing or controlling the development, preparation and approval of extramural budgets for grant and contract proposals in compliance with granting agency policies.
Advises faculty on university policy pertaining to grant development. The success of this position depends upon the management skills of the incumbent, the ability to accomplish work through delegating duties, responsibility and authority to others.
Positions require a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and four (4) years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified which has included at least one (1) year of supervisory experience. A Master’s degree in a related field may substitute for one (1) year of professional work experience. Any combination of relevant education and professional experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year‐for‐year basis.
Related experience at WSU or other higher education institution in a managerial level for at least 4 years.
Experience with state and government regulations pertaining to fiscal management.
Experience working in an academic environment.
Experience with pre- and post- grant management.
Experience working with federal grant budgets.
Experience with temporary and permanent position control issues.
Demonstrated effective leadership skills.
Demonstrated experience using accounting information systems and/or applications software.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a diverse environment.
