Under the direction of the Corporate Support Manager, this position is responsible for implementing effective strategies for cultivating business underwriting support for Northwest Public Radio.
The incumbent will identify and develop relationships with organizations and businesses and work collaboratively with the station’s Community Partnerships and Development team.
Northwest Public Radio is a highly regarded community institution and the position requires excellent professional communication and presentation skills.
In addition to being able to manage their time, prioritize effectively, complete reports, and to make established goals; team members must be able to clearly articulate the value of NWPR, to develop effective long-term partnerships, and to confidently solicit and successfully generate on-going financial support.
Successful candidates must enjoy sales, engaging with perspective underwriters, and creative problem solving.
Work Location: NWPR studios/offices at Clover Park Technical College, Lakewood WA
A Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of experience, which includes six (6) months of full-time experience in marketing, gift solicitation or public contact work with evidence of ability to work collaboratively, communicate effectively orally and in writing and organize and execute assignments. A Master’s degree in a relevant field may be substituted for up to one (1) year of the required experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Two (2) years full-time media sales, development, community relations, or underwriting.
Experience in public radio and/or television broadcasting.
