Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent educational experience; supplemented with three to five (3-5) years of ophthalmology experience.

Preferred Qualifications: Certified Ophthalmic Technician licensure or other medical licensure

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Manages daily clinical operations by reviewing patient, physician, and technician schedules, assigning clinical space usage by physician; monitors clinic flow, and interfacing with facility staff; participates in committees pertaining to the department, School of Medicine, and SLUCare

Enhances and improves patient experience by monitoring Press Ganey scores for satisfaction ratings; investigates patient complaints, draws conclusions and contacts patients for satisfaction resolutions.

Provides training and guidance to clinical staff; oversees performance reviews and monitors daily routine of technical staff; train new technical staff; serves as departmental Epic and IDX super user

Reviews EPIC/EMR reports to determine clinic needs and verifies clinic workflows; identifies areas of waste and opportunities for efficiency

Assists in the annual budget preparation and bi-annual allocation of expenses to physicians; monitors supplies and small equipment purchases; oversees maintenance of clinical equipment by coordinating a maintenance program with clinical staff for timely repairs and proper functioning; obtains needed maintenance contracts

Performs other duties as assigned.
