Minimum Starting Salary: $50,000 - $55,000/annually; salary commensurate w/ qualifications and experience.

Under the general supervision of the Director of Learning Support Services, the Assistant Director is responsible for the development, implementation, and coordination of the tutorial and Modified Supplemental Instruction programs including the selection, hiring, training, and supervision of subject tutors and learning assistants in all academic disciplines (approximately 350 students per academic year). The Assistant Director will also be responsible for compiling service data, writing reports, representing the MSI/tutorial components on campus wide committees, and working closely with staff and faculty. In consultation with the Director, the Assistant Director will establish policies for the MSI and tutorial components of Learning Support Services and its many partnerships with campus academic departments and other student services units.

• Strong interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work with persons from low-income and educationally disadvantaged backgrounds, and students with disabilities.

• Ability to work harmoniously and cooperatively with colleagues, university faculty and staff.

• Experience with and extensive knowledge of tutorial programs, supplemental instruction, and other academic support programs in a college setting.

• Experience and knowledge in training and supervising tutorial and student staff in a college setting and implementation of study skills and other academic support programs.
