This position is focused on generating excitement around athletic events (particularly around Bentley’s four marquee teams—football, men’s and women’s basketball, and hockey), and therefore, bolstering pride and spirit in the University. The incumbent in this position reports to the Office of the Dean of Student Affairs and is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining programs and events primarily related to athletic events. The incumbent will also plan and implement communication material via email and social media to faculty, staff, and students to highlight games and increase awareness of athletic events, teams, and student-athletes. The person in this position will also be responsible for creating and executing a comprehensive three year strategy around supporting athletic pride and spirit at the institution.
Master’s degree in Higher Education, Counseling, or a related field, and 1-2 years event/program experience preferably through a graduate program, advising students in a college setting. Knowledge of student development theory. Experience in multicultural settings, diversity training programs, second language frequency, or coursework in multicultural perspectives is desired.
Experience and enthusiasm around athletics event desired.
