The Dean of Student Affairs Office supports dynamic co-curricular learning and engagement for all students within both the School of Arts & Science and the School of Engineering (AS&E), and partners closely with colleagues across campus, including Residential and Campus Life, Community Relations, Fraternity and Sorority Affairs, the Group of Six, Health Promotion, the Office of Equal Opportunity, the Chaplaincy, and Undergraduate Education. Student Affairs plays a central role coordinating support and resources for individual students and offering a wide array of dynamic campus programs and initiatives.
Reporting to the Dean of Student Affairs for AS&E, the Senior Associate Dean of Student Affairs will play a key leadership and managerial role within the immediate dean's office and throughout the various departments comprising the division of student affairs. The Senior Associate Dean will lead a team of talented staff who provide support for individual students, respond to a variety of complex student and community needs, and proactively develop a dynamic and safe learning environment for all AS&E undergraduate and graduate students. Candidates with superb judgment and communication skills, six to eight years of progressively responsible experience in student affairs or a related area of education, a demonstrated sensitivity, imagination, and effectiveness in responding to challenging issues, and a firm commitment to social justice and transparency within a community of diverse racial, ethnic, socio-economic, gender, gender expression and other identities are strongly encouraged to apply.
