Job Description:

Assist the Dean in overseeing the Division of Professional Studies and Workforce Development in the following areas:

  • Investigate and respond to student and faculty concerns and grade appeals within the guidelines of the student handbook and faculty contracts
  • Triage student concerns and communicate them to the Dean as required
  • Work with faculty and office staff on course scheduling and review of syllabi
  • Liaise with various constituents to support special programs such as the Electronic Power Utility Technology (EPUT), Gas Utility Technology (GUT) and Department of Revenue (DOR), and those programs with no full-time faculty, such as Fire Protection and Safety (FPS) and the (proposed) Leadership Integration for the Public Safety Professional (LIP) Certificate. Assist in the advising, marketing, and promoting of these programs
  • Participate in strategic planning for the Division
  • Assist with reports, data, projections and estimates related to the Division's annual budget
  • Conduct research for Dean as needed, particularly with labor market trends
  • Prepare contracts for external evaluators
  • Prepare travel arrangements and submit direct payment requests for travel reimbursements
  • Organize Program Advisory Committee meetings
  • Assist in overseeing the successful functioning and management of the Professional Studies office


  • Master's Degree
  • Three years prior experience in higher education required, community college experience preferred
  • Strong organizational, computer database, interpersonal, analytical, writing and communication skills
  • Proven ability to work effectively with a diverse faculty, staff and student population
