Make a significant contribution to scholarship in the field of educational leadership through maintaining active research and seeking external funding. Teach graduate level courses on topics in two or more of the following areas: evaluation, finance, assessment, school improvement, school law, and human resources. Contribute to the program’s State-wide Ed.D. and potentially assume the coordination of the Educational Leadership Program, which is offered statewide across WSU campuses in Pullman, Spokane, and Vancouver, in addition to the Tri-Cities campus. Other responsibilities include oversight of the Educational Leadership doctoral program at the Tri-Cities campus; advising doctoral students and chairing dissertations; providing service to the university and to the profession at the local, state, and national levels; developing and maintaining collaborative relationships with colleagues within and across campuses, establishing connections with local school and district leaders throughout the region; demonstrating a commitment to diversity and social justice.
Earned doctorate in educational leadership or closely related field and a demonstrated record of significant contribution to scholarship, appropriate to rank by the hire date.
For Associate Professor level, four or more years of successful teaching experience at the university level.
For Full Professor level, ten or more years of experience successful teaching experience at the university level.
Leadership and/or teaching in K-12 education; evidenced interest or record of teaching via distance learning; ability to provide leadership in an educational context and to work collaboratively with other faculty and K-12 educators; evidenced record at national level related to high quality administrative programs; evidenced assessment and evaluation record for making ongoing and systemic programmatic improvements. Desired research areas should relate to any or several of these leadership development areas: principal and teacher evaluation, finance, assessment and evaluation, school law, and human resources.
